In addition to working and being a partner in some recognized firms in the country since 1991, having worked as in-house for Grupo Televisa, S.A. and now being a founding partner of ELS - Peñalosa + Donnadieu, Jean Yves has represented various clients in the registration and protection of their intellectual property rights, negotiations to obtain technology transfer and technical assistance contracts, licenses and franchises; as well as in the initiation and defense of different judicial and administrative actions (including civil and criminal actions) related to the violation, cancellation and nullity of all kinds of trademarks, patents, copyrights and industrial secrets. He has also participated in the recovery of domain names, Internet and social media pages and portals. Expert in copyright and entertainment in judicial and arbitration proceedings inside and outside Mexico.

Additionally, Jean Yves has represented studios, content producers, distributors, exhibitors, service providers, advertising agencies and agents representing artists, producers and performers in Mexico and abroad. He has also provided legal advice on matters related to pre-production, production, post-production, distribution, exhibition, radio and television broadcasting of programs, films and advertising campaigns, as well as in the day-to-day activities of his clients. Likewise, he has participated in the identification and negotiation of royalties for public execution, as well as the negotiation of contracts for the provision of services of all kinds of talent.

Jean Yves has also represented companies in obtaining registrations, licenses and permits from the Ministry of Health and the Federal Commission for the Protection against Health Risks ("COFEPRIS"), as well as in the processing of various administrative and judicial procedures against these health authorities and public social security authorities related to the closure of establishments, health recalls and alerts, imposition of security measures and public procurement.

In the teaching field, Jean Yves since 2009 is professor of "Intellectual Property Law", in the Law Degree of the Universidad Iberoamericana, A.C., Santa Fe campus and in the Master's Program in Intellectual Property of the Universidad Panamericana, A.C.

In 2022 he was awarded by the Universidad Iberoamericana, A.C. with the Diploma of University Merit "Carmen Viqueira Landa".

He is also a frequent speaker at seminars organized by the International Chamber of Commerce ("ICC"), the Mexican Bar Association, Bar Association, A.C., the now Attorney General’s Office and other public and private institutions. He has also been a member of the Editorial Board of Smuggling and Piracy of the newspaper REFORMA and of the Business Section of that newspaper. Jean Yves is actively involved in the development of articles related to trade, telecommunications, entertainment and intellectual property for various magazines and newspapers.

From 2009 to 2012 Jean Yves was Deputy Coordinator of the Intellectual Property Commission of the Mexican Bar, Colegio de Abogados, A.C. and from 2012 to 2015 he was Coordinator of said Commission. Also, from 2017 to 2021 he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Mexican Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, A.C. ("AMPPI") and of the Mexican group of the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle ("AIPPI"), serving as the last position as National Vice President.

Jean Yves also serves as an attorney authorized by the National Copyright Institute ("INDAUTOR") to be arbitrator in copyright arbitration proceedings.
